This film was shot in Guangzhou from 2021 to 2023. During a period full of uncertainties, the independent music scene in Guangzhou, like weeds, exuded vitality in the city’s crevices. Xiao Ji, the owner of QiiiSnacksRecords, switches between making records, band rehearsals and organizing performances every day. This DIY practice has connected more young people who love indie music. They use music to fight against uncertainty, like weeds, wild, scattered, fragile, yet full of vitality and omnipresent. Bands will disband and Spaces will vanish, but there are still new forces growing in the crevices of modern cities.
