DIRECTOR'S STATEMENT

Thomas Tang
Director
The pre-shooting of this documentary was completed by myself alone. During the shooting process of more than two months, I independently undertook the duties of director, photography, and recording. This documentary describes the story of a group of college students from the mainland leading impoverished junior high school students in remote mountainous areas of Taiwan to ride for charity from Taiwan all the way to Shanghai. Due to some special reasons, I had to take on multiple roles, and I kept tense and sharp all the time during the shooting period. During the shooting process, I trained my “perception” ability to a large extent. There is a Japanese haiku I like very much, called “Ancient Pond” , the frog jumped into the water, and there was a sound." I personally think that the documentary is the frog jumping into the water in the pond, and the sound is the little ripples of the movie as a dream.
