DIRECTOR'S STATEMENT

Wong Penn-Ram
Director
The prototype of the film’s inspiration is a story of “a bath center that uses a turtle to wash its guests.” The first half is mainly narrative, telling the boring, absurd, bragging, and self-righteous lives of several young Northeasterners such as Ah Hao and Brother Yu. They use their character settings and their relationship with each other to metaphorize the former Soviet Union-style. Politics; the second half is dominated by images, with de-narrative expressions. The whole film is interspersed with reality, dreams, imaginings and ideas, and it tries the direct transition between the dreams of different characters.
