This film is a tilt at my aesthetics as well as my attitude towards life. I spare no effort to try to fuse my experience with the filmic images. Just like the one in the film ‘who was given a name of mountains by the Mountain, a name of rivers by the River’, the one ‘who was later sent away by the River, and only left the name of the mountains’, I, myself, is the elder brother Chao as well as the younger brother Yao, for I was once born and grew up at that place. That place will disappear one day ineluctably, just like innumerable countries deluged by the flood of our epoch, while that place will never disappear, just like everything that has been of eternity in the film.
